FAQ'S
A managed services field audit team can simplify many loss prevention processes

• Deploy staffing on important corporate office functions, not building out an on-site audit staff

• Reduce overhead costs

• Flexible enough to be deployed in a variety of audit methodologies

• Regular, scheduled audits to monitor your store/unit performance on a consistent basis

• As needed audits to focus on your locations that routinely perform poorly on metrics like shrink, sales, employee turnover, etc.

• Random audits with no targeting mechanism to allow you to perform “spot checks” across your organization

Answering Your Questions About Field Operations Compliance
The Zellman Group is run by retail executives with an intimate knowledge of loss prevention, audit, and retail and hospitality operations. Structured field audits provide a non-biased insight and objective view into your store employees' understanding of and compliance with the company's loss prevention and operational policies and procedures.

Field Audit Preparation
Preparation is the key for a swift, thorough, and complete field audit. Prior to the very first site visit, we review your policies and procedures in detail, spend a day in a well-run location - normally with a district manager and others present - and develop a customized audit worksheet.

Audit Store/Unit Procedures
An audit of store/unit loss prevention policies and procedures is conducted in the presence of the manager and is comprised of several areas. Typical compliance areas of focus include, but are not limited to, facilities, inventory, physical security (safes, alarms, keys, etc.), cash management (register and media, cash control, deposits), and offsite facilities. Upon completion, the auditor will review the audit with the manager and make recommendations regarding any deficient areas. This tactic instantly raises employee awareness and helps quickly retrain managers and staff.

Review Of Sales Paperwork
The location's sales paperwork is reviewed for the purpose of policy and procedure compliance. The basic transaction types audited include: refunds, voids, credit card sales, no sales, paid outs, employee purchases, and other potentially high risk transaction types that you might define. If there are any issues regarding policy violation, or theft, they will be addressed with the manager at the time of the audit.

Employee Loss Prevention Discussions
During the audit there are short, informal discussions with employees regarding specific loss prevention topics - including their thoughts on internal and external theft, their knowledge of loss prevention policies.

24 Hour Results
Complete electronic results are available 24 hours after completion of the audit. The audit has a web-based format, and the distribution of the audit results can be tailored to meet your needs. It can be automatically emailed to the store/unit, district, and regional managers upon completion.

Reporting
Comprehensive reports generated from the audit results can be created based upon score, audit area, audit question, location, and managerial hierarchy. The reports are versatile and can be generated for store/unit, district, and regional managers.

Policy And Procedures Recommendations
Before, during, or after the audit, we can review your current policies and procedures including ringing transactions and refunds through the POS, handling of cash and deposits, monitoring of inventory, and physical security procedures (safe, alarm, EAS, etc.). Our seasoned field audit team may recommend policy changes, clarifications, and additions, and we can assist in developing these policy/ procedure improvements with you.
