Loss Prevention
Shrink, theft, and non-compliance can cost a business millions of dollars every year. That not only makes you less profitable, it can make you less competitive. Regardless of your current infrastructure, The Zellman Group can help you reduce your company’s shrink and provide an early, and on-going, return on investment on loss prevention initiatives. Our LP services team follows best practices to implement physical security, perform data analysis/investigations, and help prevent employee fraud. While our LP consultants can offer objective insight into your policies and procedures.

The Zellman Group Provides Answers For Loss Prevention
Our successful combination of advanced technology, accounting skills, and investigative expertise in retail can lead to prevention of loss and/or admissions and restitution. Large or small, whether you are looking to build a complete LP department from the ground up or you just need some analysis and shrink expertise, we can offer everything from security basics to in depth consulting.

Answering Your Questions About Loss Prevention
The Zellman Group is run by retail executives with an intimate knowledge of loss prevention, audit and retail and hospitality operations. Our loss prevention services offer the peace of mind that you are effectively managing your company's shrink.

Loss Prevention Best Practices
The strength of The Zellman Group’s loss prevention services is its broad approach. All of our deliverables are available in a managed services format, and the services selected often vary by company size and LP structure.

• Consulting, both overall loss prevention and exception reporting specific.
• On-going services, including POS monitoring, physical security, tip lines, letter programs, and more.
• As needed services, like investigations.

LP And Physical Security
The compliance skills inherent throughout The Zellman Group enable us to review, revise, and/or establish policies and procedures that greatly minimize risk, theft and fraud in your field operations. We are also ready to operate a 24x7 800# tip line with professionally trained bi-lingual interviewers, for calls on observed direct theft, sexual harassment, and other EEOC complaints. In addition, the LP services team can oversee physical security equipment installation coordination and management for you, including.

• Develop and maintain key control program (keying and coring)
• Review current safe specifications and procedures; assist in safe repair and bidding for new safes
• Assist with burglar alarm layout and weekly review of open/close reports

Exception Reporting
The Zellman Group uses the Datavantage XBR® Loss Prevention exception reporting tool to measure exception criteria geared specifically for your operation – matching exceptions from associate, store/location, district and regional levels against each other.

• Daily Incidents – Over 130 different queries identify the problem store/associate. These reports drill down to transaction/SKU level to clearly identify fraudulent activity.

• Weekly Trends – A series of weekly control point reports are run to identify exceptions by ranking types of POS activity. These point out changes in “normal” operation trends.

• Special Needs – Hosting, customization, and training are also offered.

XBR Consulting
The Zellman Group’s LP analysts are experts in post-implementation consulting and customization of XBR. This process begins with an operational questionnaire and builds a detailed understanding of your business. A semi-annual review measures the tool’s success, specifies changes and/or additions to the queries, and aligns usage with broader loss prevention objectives.

Investigations
If data analysis and/or other information show sufficient evidence that a potentially dishonest employee exists, The Zellman Group can provide a report detail to your internal loss prevention team, or we can handle the investigation upon your authorization. Investigations can be done on location, or through telephone interviews. A case report is provided upon the completion of our investigation, and we can coordinate police involvement if necessary. Furthermore, our clients are named as an additional insured on our $2 million Errors and Omissions insurance policy.

Build ROI Case-By-Case
All of our investigators are fully trained and certified annually. Their skill at interviewing can result in increased admissions, restitutions, and prosecution (if desired). This not only puts an end to the situation, you may also recover lost funds – building a compelling ROI for your loss prevention program investments.

Loss Prevention Consulting
Beyond the day-to-day services and activities of our experienced LP analysts lies an opportunity to significantly impact your loss prevention function. Long-term involvement with our clients has identified many areas of improvement in store operating policies and procedures, loss prevention guidelines, cash management processes, alarms, POS monitoring, and more.
