Riding for a Cause

Nearly every 57 hours somewhere in the US an officer is killed in the line of duty. There have been 30 fatalities this year… and it's only April.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) is very near and dear to the heart of The Zellman Group. The mission of the NLEOMF is to respect, honor, and remember the heroes who risk their lives every day to protect our communities.

Last year Stuart Levine (CEO, The Zellman Group) attended a candle vigil hosted by The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) during Police Week. He came back from that event with heart wrenching stories of loved ones etching names of fallen officers so they could have something to take back and remember;  little kids were leaving notes & pictures for their fathers/mothers such as:

…following in your footsteps daddy;  or

…I wish I was able to spend some more time with you.

Within the past three years, with the help of our client and vendor partners, The Zellman Group has raised money and awareness for this non-profit organization through silent auctions and events. Last year alone we hosted a black tie event at Oheka Castle raising over $70,000 with all proceeds going to the NLEOMF.

This year it's even more personal.

Stuart is riding a bike with the Police Unity Tour from Ground Zero in New York, NY to Judicial Square in Washington, DC.  The ride is to honor all the fallen officers that have been killed in the line of duty.  Stuart joins both active and retired officers and explains that, after riding 300+ miles, the pain you endure is just a fraction of the pain that the families of the fallen officers feel on a daily basis.

We ask you to make a donation and help raise money for a great cause. Every dollar helps. Please click here to make a donation.

RILA - 2013

Converging on the Gaylord Palms Convention Center and Resort on April 29th – May 1st, and covering the full spectrum of Asset Protection, RILA (Retail Industry Leaders Association) Asset Protection Conference boasted a whopping attendance of over 1,000 Loss Prevention personnel from over 140 domestic and international companies. The Zellman Group was present and accounted for! We were able to meet and engage with potential new clients, as well as, catch up with many current clients. It was a great opportunity to discuss program changes, and current industry trends. We also held our annually continental breakfast for attendees as a “Bronze” sponsor.

NRF - 2012

…Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and file' gumbo

'Cause tonight I’m gonna see my ma cher amio

Pick guitar, fill fruit jar and be gayo

Son of a gun, we’ll have big fun on the bayou!

And we did! Kicking off the NRF 2012 LP Conference at the New Orleans – House of Blues on opening night, the Zellman Group and BlueDot Safes sponsored a Tuesday night reception for many of our clients and other VIP’s. We enjoyed great New Orleans style dishes and “live” music performed by John Lisi and The Delta Funk. We entertained our guests with palm and tarot card readings and garnished them in traditional Mardi Gras beads.

This year’s conference registered 2400 attendees resulting in a slight decrease in retail attendance. The registrants were able to attend many sessions on current loss prevention trends as well as, visit the exhibit hall for the latest in loss prevention products and services. The Zellman Group unveiled its new mobile site for civil recovery, as well as demonstrated the enhanced civil recovery web portal.    The level of interest from our clients and visitors to the booth was extremely favorable.

The Zellman Group sponsored the NRF Food Sector Breakfast for the 5th year running. Many senior Loss Prevention representatives from top food service and grocery store companies attend this breakfast each year. At The Zellman Group booth, we hosted a Silent Auction for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund which raised $2,700. All proceeds go to the Memorial and the Museum that is currently under construction and due to open in 2013. The closing night reception on Thursday night was held at Generation Hall which The Zellman Group and BlueDot partnered together with NRF. It was a chance to connect with old friends and make new ones. What a great way to end an exciting week!

The Zellman Group would like to thank all of you who came out to our events or visited our booth.  We enjoyed sharing our services with new acquaintances and highlighting new program enhancements with our clients.

We look forward to seeing you in San Diego at NRF 2013. Be sure to log onto our newly designed website at www.zellmangroup.com and please participate in our blogs and message board as we would love to hear from you. Don’t forget, you can do this on your smartphone!

RILA - 2012

A primary objective of RILA’s Asset Protection offerings is to facilitate collaboration among industry professionals in the areas of retail crime, audit, workplace safety, incident preparedness and response and technology. Through surveys, informal benchmarking, research studies and committees, RILA identifies emerging industry trends and assists in the development of response strategies to support members in their efforts. The Zellman Group participates in the RILA Loss Prevention, Auditing and Safety Conference each year and 2012 was no exception.  As a Silver level sponsor, the Zellman Group sponsored a key note address by Chris Canoles, Senior Director of Loss Prevention for Home Depot.  Chris shared Home Depot’s experience regarding the Joplin, Missouri disaster. He gave a compelling speech and TZG was proud to be part of this significant message to the retail leaders in attendance. With over 450 retail and hospitality professionals in attendance, the conference was a huge success.  The Zellman Group was able to meet with their current clients and share program changes, and current industry trends, but we were also delighted to be approached by new friends that were interested in partnering with us.
